IAS officer Tina Dabi who was the UPSC exam topper in 2015 penned an emotional note saying goodbye to the district of Jaisalmer as she goes on maternity leave.
Dabi, who till now served as the district collector of Jaisalmer, has moved the Rajasthan government to put her on a non-field posting in the capital city of Jaipur.
Dabi took to Instagram, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the citizens of Jaisalmer for showering her with “love and support”.
“Alvida Jaisalmer! Truly blessed to have got an opportunity to serve this wonderful district for one year as its District Collector and Magistrate,” she wrote in the caption.
In the post, the former District Collector and Magistrate of Jaisalmer shared a series of pictures displaying the numerous projects and initiatives, which came into being during her tenure. Some of these were the Swachh Jaisalmer campaign, Jaisalmer Shakti (Ladies First).
Dabi was instrumental in Jaisalmer successfully securing All India Rank 2 in Niti Aayog’s Aspirational District Programme, and organising the International Desert Festival in 2023.
From launching initiatives like Swachh Jaisan and Ladies First (Jaisan Shakti) to securing All India Rank 2 in Niti Aayog’s Aspirational District Programme in November 2022, to hosting International Desert Festival 2023, it has been an amazing journey,” she added.
Calling her journey in Jaisalmer “fantastic”, Dabi also talked about the “invaluable knowledge” she gained during her stint as the DC.
The note concluded with a heartfelt expression of thanks. “I leave Jaisalmer today with a wealth of knowledge that I will always treasure. Working here has been a fantastic learning experience and I am very grateful for the opportunity. Jaisalmer, you shall be missed!”

After completing her schooling, Tina Dabi did her graduation in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi.
